KTM 690 Akrapovic exhaust - will it meet sound test?
« Gepost op: 23-06-2011, 22:26 »
I have a 690 with Akrapovic exhaust and was wondering if it will meet the 94db sound requirement to enter in organised outdoor events with sound test. Anyone got any experience with this?

What I recall is that the 690 at 5.000 rpm makes 98 dB with an Akra. You could check out if they manufacture the FIM killer for your pipe, but I'm not sure.

Police gave up looking the second I told them it was insured. Case closed. Despite keeping a watch for sales of parts or complete bike, it probably found it's way out of the country. So, got a good deal on one from the UK. Saved quite a lot buying it there versus here in NL. Been fitting it out the past week. This is how it's looking now

Great looker! I see you have the original tankcap still in place. Would not do that in a sandy/muddy environment.

No worries with that. This pic was before it was replaced with one from Rally Raid (same as with my stolen one). As an aside, rode previously with the original in real muddy conditions in Borneo; but made a foam gasket to seal the gap. Kept the majority of mud out. One thing KTM did do on the '11's is improve the lock on tank. Not nearly as stiff as the previous ones; but the mud/dirt is still the same issue.

My regular parking spot at work. Unfortunately it's being used as my commuter as opposed to seeing lots of dirt at present. Who is the colleague? Need to find a riding buddy locally.

He lives in Amsterdam (rides a GS1200, onroad only), I live in Amsterdam too but I guess you are in the Hague?
