That's quite a lot.

Why would you need mirrors and indicators? It's far better without it.
What I mean by that is those parts are the most exposed to be broken in those kind of bikes.
Theoretically you can still indicate the direction with you hand and look back when changing lines.

your right, but the rules for vehicles on the road in the Netherlands state that all motorcycles need those parts. They didn't think of enduro''s when they made those rules is seems.

ok. But if there is some enduro event, do organizers require all those things or plate is good enough?

The thing is, I have the bike plated but really prefer to ride without mirrors and indicators.

enduro/offroad event
indicators and mirrors are looked at.
at a ofcial enduro event you do need a electric horn, number plate in right angel FIM tires(with a offroad event only DOT) and no noise exhaust <94 DB

at offroad events I never had anything said to me about not having indicators or mirrors.
lights, horn, tires,, licenseplate and soundlevel are the things that need to be ok.
If nothing goes right......

go left!

Indicators and mirrios will notr be checked on enduro's or all/offroad rides.
But as soon as you're on a public road you are at risk getting fined by the police.

Thanks a lot for all replies.
Can you also tell me if police would stop me for not having mirrors and indicators, will they confiscate the bike saying it can not ride on public roads or giving fine is all they do? If that's a fine do you know how high is it? Anyone was in similar situation stopped by police?

My bike didn't have : indicators, a horn, brakelights, speedo..
It did have a very loud exhaust and non-DOT tires..

That was when I got it from Belgium.
But because it had been street legal in another European country when I wanted to get it plated here they just checked the frame and motornumber..
They matched and my bike got a plate!

Afterwards I did fit a left mirror, brakelights, a speedometer and changed the tires..

So far I haven't been stopped by the police because I have no indicators or a right mirror.. (have the bike now for one and a half year.)

never been stopped for not having mirrors and indicators.
Just make sure the plate is mounted correctly, and lit if driving in the dark.

just dont drive like an idiot and all but some officers will treat you the way you treat them, so it's in your hands.

What do you think by that?

I am not a hooligan on a bike when people are around. Want them to think positively about bikers.

In that case you have the right attitude to have a look at the 11 commandments at www.codegroen.com and live uh drive by it ;)

When they suspect you of a bad attitude (like driving in a nature area or you try to flea, they could give you up to three fines.

The first fine is the one for the true reason they stopped you. The other two are most often given in order you will never forget the first one (or the officer).

I try not to give any room for the two last ones.
