Ha ha,
Hij staat te koop; hij heeft de Dakar 2004 er al mee uitgereden:
"I emailed the guy who posted these photos on his website, in Japan.
Unfortunately, he didn't get to where he sourced the fuel tanks, although I suspect custom, or a very low, niche-production source."
Here's his response:
Thanks your e-mail.
This DRZ400S had run only Paris-Dakar 2004.
My job is mechanician for all-makes motorocycles in my own shop.
Sometimese I join the race with my friend.
I did not entry beijin-uranbator rally yet.
But my 5friends went there last year.
that rally organization is in Japan.I think
that organaize is not good but not bad.
Expensive!!
This DRZ owner is Mr.Fujita he stay 800km far from my shop.
this DRZ is in my shop now.
He want to sell this bike because we spent much money in Dakar rally.
This bike was make from 2 DRZ to make 1 recebike and
many parts for repair in the rally.
They were one new and one used same model.
All cost of make one bike was 30000 USD.
Sending and returning cost, stay in Europe, entry fees,
and transporting cost all included we spent more 40000 USD!!!
So me and my rider Mr.Fujita rent big money.
We pay that loan, continue by now and the future...!!!!
So I have to check this bike sometimes for sale.
I will take many photos at that time and
I will put them on the my website.
Please a little bit wait!!
Now DRZ have 44Litters gasoline and 2L water tank.
Front main tank is about 24L. this 22Lproduct model
increase more 2 litters.
fill the hot water inside and wait 1 night it is done!
Front side-tanks 4L both.Rear-left tank is 12L.
I think this style is no good.
Front weight is too heavy and fuel lebel adjustment is very difficult.
all hoses from tanks to the one fuel pomp. And the pomp to carb.
sometimes overflow we experienced.
After the rally we have a good idea.
all hoses from tanks except main tank to pomp and
pomp to the main tank. Main tank down to the carb.
this is good!but this system need thinking main tank value anytime.
main tank is decrease at the rest 2L,
the fuel and pomp valve is open by hand.
their web site in Japanse photo page but you can try !!
