Update dag 4 , zaterdag 14 aug.
 
Ze Helio gestart op een 53 ste plek heeft nu ( 14.40 uur ) al een behoorlijke achterstand ingelopen , ligt nu op een 13 e plek.
 
16.30 uur Ze Helio pakt de 10e plek vandaag.

Vanmorgen gestart op de 43 ste plek , toch al weer tien plaatsen goedgemaakt , hij stond op de 53 ste plek na het kapot gaan van de BMW.

Vanmorgen als 33 ste gestart en vandaag binnen als derde , prima dag weer voor de BMW van Ze Helio

Ze Helio is ook niet voor niets de 5 voudig winnaar van de Rally Dos Sertoes !!!!! Post Merge: [time]di 17 aug 2010 16:38:02 GMT-1[/time][/color][/size] Dinsdag 17 aug 2010 , dag 7.
 
Gestart vanaf plaats 21 en gefinished als 26 ste , 44.12 achter de leider. Dus het ging niet zo heel best vandaag , weinig tot geen nieuws vanuit Brasil dus we gaan er maar vanuit dat Ze Helio vandaag een off dag had , morgen of later vanavond misschien meer nieuws.

Ze Helio staat nu algemeen op de 20 ste plek , dat is dan ook de plek waarvandaan hij vandaag gaat starten , we wachten weer vol ongeduld.
Post Merge: 18-08-2010, 17:43Helaas , Ze Helio is vandaag stevig gevallen , niet geblesseerd maar wel de complete navigatie toren aan stukken , Ze Helio heeft besloten om over de weg terug te gaan naar het bivak , helaas , part of the game.

(18/08 - 11:45) The rider Zé Hélio fell during the special this Wednesday and was not injured. But ended up breaking his navigation devices and decided to leave today’s race in km 195, carrying out the liaison to Teresina (PI) through a parallel highway.

Donderdag 19 aug , dag 9
 
Ze Helio is gisteren over de weg terug gereden na zijn valpartij , hij heeft ook flink last van een hand , hierdoor is hij teruggevallen naar de 40 ste plek algemeen , het enigste positieve is dat de BMW geen krimp geeft en doet waar hij voor ontwikkeld is.
Vandaag loopt het ook niet zo lekker 16.45 uur ( Brasil 11.45 ) ligt Ze Helio op een 55 ste plek , waarschijnlijk toch meer last van zijn hand als voorzien.

19.25 uur , zo te zien is de 55 ste plek niet veranderd en is dat ook zijn finish positie.

Zé Hélio shows potential of the new Speedbrain BMW Brazilian rider Zé Hélio dominated the early going of the Rally dos Sertoes until a stone shattered his victory hopes. The rally is the second longest behind the Dakar and part of the Cross Country Rally World Championship. Zé Hélio gave his debut for the German Speedbrain Rally Team. The multi-time Sertoes winner´s race weapon has been built based on the BMW 450 X. Zé Hélio displayed blitzing speed already in the prologue, where he placed runner-up to fellow countryman Felipe Zanol. He went on to capture the first stage win the very next day, taking the chequered flag three minutes ahead of rally legend Marc Coma aboard his KTM 690. Zé Hélio wasn´t quite as successful during stage two. He followed the wrong route, but still maintained his leadership position. Stage number three then saw Zé Hélio extend his lead until a stone hit his bike and damaged the oil line. The engine lost all its liquid and Zé Hélio failed to reach the finish on his own. Suddenly his dream of winning had gone out the window. A devastated Zé Hélio began the next day in the national class, meaning he had to start from the back of the pack. The Brazilian had to bite a lot of dust, yet his team used the opportunity to test the new bike and gain valuable competition time. Despite the now difficult circumstances, Zé Hélio scored a remarkable third place during the marathon stage, where he had to come from way behind again. Ramon Volkart, the second Speedbrain BMW rider finished the Sertoes in ninth place. Volkart used a stock bike that had been optimised with a Speedbrain kit. Without any technical problems and after 4,500 kilometers, he was able to earn second place in the super production class (up to 450cc). Zé Hélio: "I´d like to thank Speedbrain and the whole team for the great bike. I was in a position to win the race until disaster struck. It was not about the bike though, which has tremendous potential. I am impressed with the engine and the way the bike handles in the sand. An additional thanks goes to BMW Brazil. I hope to receive such support in the future as well."
