Rally Dos Sertoes 2010 11/21 aug. Brasil , De winnaar van de 2009 Rally Dos Sertoes ,
José Hélio Rodrigues gaat deelnemen op een BMWG450X RR klaargemaakt door Frans Verhoeven en Boy Ollieslagers , Boy is ondertussen in Brasil en gaat de service verzorgen voor José Hélio Rodrigues , dus toch een beetje Nederlandse deelname in Brasil en leuk voor ons om te volgen.

First stage victory for speedbrain BMW!

The speedbrain BMW rally team celebrated their first victory at the opening stage of the Rally dos Sertoes in Brazil. Home rider Zé Hélio leads the motorcycle competition after winning Wednesday´s stage going from Goiania to Caldas Novas.

Zé Hélio, who competes aboard a speedbrain BMW based on the BMW G 450 X, went into stage one having finished the prologue runner-up to fellow countryman Felipe Zanol. On the way to Caldas Novas, Zé Hélio revealed the capabilities of the new bike by stealing over two minutes from Zanol. He also clearly defeated former Dakar winner Marc Coma.

Zé Hélio: "I was pacing myself quite well. My aim remains to battle with the best, even if it is because you don´t want to ride in the dust of those ahead."

As far as pretty (if you remove the factory 690s of Despres and Coma) , I don't agree. The best looking (design, overall and technical details, integration of tanks and rally features) bikes in Rally today are the BMWs for sure.
Every engineer of every brand was stuck around Verhoeven ' s bike in Buenos aires this past january

3e etappe , vrijdag 13 aug ( vrijdag de dertiende ) helaas problemen met de BMW van Ze Helio zie onderstaand persbericht.

Zaterdag 14 aug , een half uurtje geleden zijn de motoren gestart 7.00 uur plaatselijke tijd , hier dus 5 uur later , Ze Helio start vandaag vanaf de 53 ste plek algemeen en heeft dus een behorlijke achterstand goed te maken , we will see :

Stage 3 - Ze Helio rock through oil cooler & blew motor
 
 To third phase of the Rally International of the Interiors, carried out  in this Friday, was not like him expected for the pilot one Zé Helio.   The pentacampeão of the motorbikes had problems and pair in the  kilometre 154 of the special one, formed for 220 kilometres.  The  competitors gave up of Unaí (MG) with direction to High Heaven of Goiás  (GO), traversing 416 kilometres in the total, being that the more quick  of the day was the miner pilot Felipe Zanol, followed by the Spanish  Marc Coma – second the unofficial results. 
 
 The performance of the motorcycle SpeedBrain G450 RR BMW was being one  of the big positive points for Zé Helio, that initiated to third phase  as the leader of the competition.  However, a stone penetrated the hose  of the refrigerator of oil.  "Was a fatality, something that can happen  with any an in the Rally of the Interiors.  As the hose stays nearby my  heel, I did not I perceive the problem for try a solution on time",  whined the pilot.
